About White Tiger Taekwondo

White Tiger Taekwondo is a group of independently run Tae Kwon Do clubs within Northamptonshire, teaching directly from the Chang Hon Tae Kwon Do "bible" written by the founder of Tae Kwon Do - General Choi Hong Hi.

Our aim is to open Tae Kwon Do to everyone, especially families, while allowing people to progress and train at their own speed. People often think about the martial arts as being for children and "blokes". We are slowly but surely trying to dispel this myth as a good portion of our membership are now females. There is one female second degree and one third degree black belt within the organisation with another two due to grade to 2nd degree in the next year and numerous female first degree's with at least four or five more females due to grade to first degree within the next year or so.

We have clubs in the following area's - Weston Favell, Moulton, Earls Barton, Mawsley, Wellingborough and Finedon and these are run by the three main instructors - Mr Adrian Gent, Mr Tony Mawdsley and Mrs Claire Bedford.

Gradings are approx. every three to four months, every belt is graded separately, as are juniors and adults. NAKMAS have officially recognised Mr Ron Denny and Mr Adrian Gent as National grading examiners for White Tiger Taekwondo.

For your information, White Tiger Taekwondo is an ITF style taekwondo group as opposed to WTF which is the style that can be seen at the Olympics.
