Grading Conduct
There is at present 3 instructors within White Tiger Taekwondo - Mr Adrian Gent 4th Degree, Mr Tony Mawdsley 2nd Degree and myself Mrs Claire Bedford 2nd Degree.
We normally all attend the gradings, Mr Gent is the grading examiner, Mr Mawdsley usually issues instructions during the grading and Mrs Bedford normally issues paperwork and monitors behaviour during the gradings. During gradings we wear suits and ties so be aware of how you conduct yourself and how you speak to anyone wearing a suit and tie before, during and after the grading.
Quite often there will be other White Tiger members helping out at the Grading and these too will be wearing smart attire. Those sitting at the grading table are normally 1st dan black belts and above. If someone is wearing a suit and tie but isn't sitting at the grading table they will normally be between red belt and black belt grades and you should show the same respect to them as you would the grading examiners.
Constant talking while other people are grading is not recommended. If one of the seniors has to come and speak to you about your talking you have probably already lost a point for attitude.
Please try not to fidget excessively, especially with plastic drinks bottles or with anything that might make a noise and distrct those that are grading.
Please make sure you go to the toilet before your grading starts. If you do need to go while another group is grading then put your hand up and a senior will escort you out of the room at an appropriate time. At this time make sure you bow out of the room and then bow back in when the senior grade tells you to.
You must always wear a full dobok to your grading if you are a yellow tag and above. A t-shirt and dobok trousers is not acceptable at a grading.
You must always wear your belt.
If you are green belt and above you must always bring your sparring kit with you. Boys must wear a box and all under 18's must wear a headguard.
